Skincare

With the rise in skincare and beauty trends, it can be challenging to know what products you need to keep your skin healthy and blemish-free. This article will break down the two key components of any skincare routine.

Key Components of A Healthy Skincare Routine

Just as with every aspect of healthy living, there is not a single, standard skincare routine that will work for everyone. Given that everyone’s skin is different, it is important to find what specific products work best for your skin type.

That being said, there are two key components that should be incorporated into everyone’s morning and evening skincare routine: cleanser and moisturizer.

Once you have those, you can add more products to your routine that target your specific needs.

Cleanser

A cleanser should be one of the first steps in your skincare routine. It is important to use a cleanser to wash off any dirt, environmental impurities, makeup, or excess oil that might have accumulated on your face while you slept or during the day.

Finding an exfoliating cleanser can be particularly beneficial because it will gently remove any dead skin cells on the surface of your skin so that your skin can fully absorb any other products you use after cleansing.

Moisturizer

One of the final steps in your skincare routine should be to moisturize. Moisturizer will boost the skin’s natural protective barrier and leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Make sure that when you choose a moisturizer, you look for one that does not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, petrolatum, and dyes, all of which can be damaging to your skin. Instead, they should contain ingredients, such as squalane and jojoba, that will more naturally hydrate your skin and give it a healthy, dewy glow.
